If you’ve been avoiding Trinity, what would entice you to play her? Alternatively, are you a Trinity main with a wishlist of buffs for the lovely lobster?
Not enough of a Trinity player to dream up cool stuff, but for example here are some of mine.
- Mild: base duration and maybe animation speed improvements
- Wild: one of her augments generates Overguard for the squad. Some kind of buff for Champion’s Blessing that makes it easier to stack, and makes the buff permanent until downed or something?
I don’t think Trinity really needed much of a rework other than some extra base duration and maybe some range for her 1, 3 and 4.
The cap for damage ability damage reduction is 90% for most other warframes that have a damage reducing ability (i.e. Parasitic Link/Immolation), both Link and Blessing should have their cap raised to 90%.
Her Pool of Life augment seems kind of pointless on her because energy/health regeneration is the rest of her kit, unless you run a gimmicky mods like Energizing/Mending shot. It’s still a somewhat useful mod for anyone that’s subsumed Well of Life onto another warframe though.
Champion’s Blessing was never particularly useful due to shield gating, but is even less useful with everything getting overguard in recent updates. It requires constant up keep or else you lose the entire buff. Other healing buffs like Wisp’s Health Mote, or Sevagoth’s Gloom also make building up the buff from Champion’s Blessing difficult.
Some type of heal over time effect being added might be helpful for any game mode that requires you to be mobile instead of just camping in one place. Mostly just a convenience thing rather than useful because Blessing already burst heals everything in affinity range.
Her two biggest problems are that her base durations are too short to be useful and half of her abilities are only useful as long as no one kills the enemy you used it on. Make well of life and energy vamp effectively like gaze, where it CCs the enemy and make it invincible for the duration, and double her base durations (or have it for or rework energy vamp), and then she’d be a playable frame. Still really outdated but playable.
On the mild side she really needs duration increases, they were originally nerfed due to overpowered nuking builds that have both been patched and weren’t even that strong compared to some of the stuff in modern warframe.
It’d also be nice if link could switch targets, right now it picks the closest target available whenever a link isn’t in use but if that target moves away it won’t re-target a closer enemy which makes it rather annoying as a source of melee range armor strip. Ideally it would switch to the closest 3 targets within line of sight, or out of line of sight if there are less than 3 targets in view.
On the wild side it’d be cool if well of lifes augment got changed to make it so the target actually follows Trinity around so it can be re-located and used as as healing aura for the team.
I make her duration as short as possible and just keep spamming my energy vampire
More range and duration on Link. Also the DR should scale with power strength beyond 75%.
I’d really hate to see them just tape overguard on another frame and call it fixed.
To keep Trinity’s kit true to her essence, she needs massive scaling damage reduction capabilities. This way, pulse healing abilities can actually be relevant.
This is probably be beyond what DE means by “light rework,” but if they’d rework her 4th ability to work similarly to Harrow’s Covenant, where you have a damage absorption period followed by a uncapped but decreasing function of absorbed damage to damage reduction, I think she could regain her relevance.
Please no taped on overguard.
I like your idea. Instead of Overguard I think your idea of exceptional DR plus party-wide status immunity would put her on par with Dante’s utility.
“Well of Life” can be placed at a location instead of needing to hit an enemy. It’s really good for healing defense objects but it’s hard to find an enemy that’s in a good spot, especially since the ability can be cancelled if someone kills them while you’re casting
