To make a long post short, windows is shitty but its setup bullshit is very straight forward and clear to deal with, linux is great when it works but its setup bullshit is byzantine as all hell. I got Linux working with only light bullshit on a laptop but just gave up entierly after 3 days of trying to get different distros at different advice working on my desktop.

  • Fair enough but I think the good of humanity should be taken broadly. First of all any kind of primary production is basically the base of the pyramid for everything else, if you make art or entertainment thats anything less than 100% cynical in nature you’re contributing a tiny amount to the general wellbeing of a huge number of people. Really anyone that makes or provides anything people enjoy in some way. I’d say it includes basically everyone except the many layers of superfluous management.

On the upside pluto being classified as a dwarf planet is what of what got ceres promoted out of asteroid and into dwarf planet, and now its turning out to be super interesting with potential subsurface ice and possibly being the core remnant of a failed planet that was torn apart by jupiter before it could fully form.

  • “But if you’re invisible… how do you know where your feet are going to land exactly? How do you know how far your arm is from that book you’re trying to pick up?”

We do have a specific sense for where our body parts are relative to eachother and most people can stand or walk perfectly fine with their eyes closed. So what you’re describing as a neccesary secondary superpower is something most people already have. Could be a little clumsy at first but I imagine you’d get the hang of it pretty quickly considering how functional blind people can be.
