If you travel internationally, especially Central and South America, EVERYONE uses Whatsapp. 1st time in Panama I was stunned, I didn’t even have an account then. ( Sigh ) I do now.

I’m from Mexico, that’s why everyone I know used WhatsApp. I’ve been to Europe too, the too use WhatsApp. Still id like people could give a chance to other services like Telegram for day to day use and not only for when WhatsApp is down.

I deleted my account last year, but had to make a new one when my banks wouldn’t communicate with me without it…

I mean, I agree with you, but also this appears to be a xitter post, you know, also run by a contemptible right wing pos.

Like, I am a person that hasn’t used a major US bank since 08, I use local credit unions. I don’t use facebook and deleted it after they started getting outted for shady shit a decade + ago.

I don’t use windows, or reddit, or anything else it is possible for me to avoid for similar reasons.

Hell I used to only shop for groceries at the only nearby co op until a series of extraordinary events forced me to move somewhere that did not have any.

But we live in a world full of tiktoks complaining about how bad tiktok is, where people will tell you how much capitalism sucks and how much they are against it as they are, at the very same moment ordering fast fashion and a knock off stanley cup from TEMU.

Lots of people without your digital literacy and/or political awareness. Labeling them as dumbasses isn’t making any of them switch to better alternatives.
