Can you provide any context in which “Don’t worry, you won’t need to vote anymore” is not horrifically treasonous?

The context was that he is going to do such an amazing job that voting wont be important because things are so good. I get its silly, which it was probably meant to be, but obviously he was not claiming he was going to be dictator. Why would you believe he would claim that?

Probably because he has literally claimed he will be a dictator (for one day only, wink wink). And probably because he actually attempted, in a number of illegal ways, to not count the last election so he could remain in power. You know, like a dictator.

Look, if this was literally anybody else I’d be willing to use a more charitable interpretation. Call it a gaffe at least. But Trump should have burned every last ounce of benefit of the doubt that anybody has for him the moment he abandoned his colleagues in the Capitol so he could see what the violent mob would do.

We spent the entire 2020 election going “Oh Trump doesn’t really mean it like that.” Until he did exactly what he fucking said he would do. Why are we doing this again?

The issue is that literally every single thing that you guys use is misleading or a direct lie when it comes to trumps rhetoric. And you guys believe this because the media repeats these lies over and over. “No I am thinking for myself”. No you are not, its obvious because the lies they are telling, you repeat exactly the same. Why do you believe these people when they keep lying to you?

Why do you believe Trump when he keeps lying to you? The eagerness to trust the explanation given to you by a literal convicted felon fraudster is astounding.

Bud, you’re literally parroting Trump’s faux-naive explanation on what his words meant. But ok.

Feel free to address anything in my post with substance. Tell me that it’s a lie that Trump said he’d be a dictator “for just a day.” Or that he actually didn’t try in multiple illegal ways to overturn the election. Or that he didn’t spend hours doing nothing while his colleagues begged him to stop the assault on the Capitol.

If I’m repeating lies, go on. Show me.

To be fair to you, most of what you say is misleading not directly lies. So yes, trump said he was going to be dictator for just a day, but it was a joke, and the list of two things he said he was going to do were both things within his power. Mostly what you are doing is just repeating propaganda points that are lies. Why do you carry water for the people that mislead or lie to you?

Not real context, but I imagine the mental gymantics are going: it will be such a tremendous presidency, incredibly great, really, that nobody will ever vote non-republican again. You won’t need to vote anymore. Everyone else will do it for you.

We have four entire years of context. Trump isn’t an unknown quantity by any stretch. We know what he wants to do, even if he wasn’t saying these things.

Convicted Felon and Sex Offender Treason Trump sent a mob to overthrow our democracy in a coup attempt. Wanting to become a dictator and end free elections fits in perfectly with absolutely everything we know about Treason Trump’s character. We would be total idiots to ignore Trump saying this shit. If you don’t like it then don’t tell us, tell Treason Trump not to keep saying the neofascist shit in his head.

I have gotten mail from campaigns. So I think we agree that they lie to us constantly, why would you believe this thing from harris? And a better question to ask would be why you should just accept her as your candidate when no one really voted for her.

If I understand it right (I only read a comment claiming this he says that specifically for/to Christians that don’t normally vote, trying to convince them to vote this one time. I keep planning to confirm this but have not taken the time to do so yet.

Anyone have a link to this speech or his?

That is the case, yes. And still, it changes nothing. He is still suggesting that if Christians go out and vote this year, they won’t have to ever again because, and these are his words, “it’ll be fixed.”

There is no context in which this isn’t antidemocratic.

Trump is an absolute POS, but if you look at the full speech, this seems to be what the actual speech was about. Getting them to vote just this one time.

But he’s running for president and words matter. Good for dems to press him on that
