No shit, the democrats have been losing elections like that since the Clintons in large part drove the party towards neoliberalism
But the thing is, they win even if they lose, because that’s what they and their party are being funded to do. The democrats’ donors would MUCH rather they “moderate” (read: copy Republican policy) even if it loses them elections, because as long as they aren’t being taxed or regulated or whatever by ACTUAL LEFT WING POLICY then THEY WIN. The candidates don’t give a fuck, if they win they get power, if they lose they get paid a shitload to play pretend that they’re a celebrity whose opinions matter.

It’s like if you’re actively making your kid dinner, and he walks in and says he’s hungry and wants dinner. Yeah. We knew that 20 minutes ago when we started cooking dinner for you.
Ken Martin’s first act was to tap Slotkin for the state of the union response speech. He’s just a small tad better than the last DNC chair, but he’ll keep the party supporting genocide and doing whatever Aipac and industry wants.

Neoliberals spent decades conflating the DNC with House/Senate leadership.
So it’s understandable so many voters do, but it’s still frustrating having to explain this so many times.
House/Senate leadership used the DNC as a cudgel against their own party.
If a rep didn’t vote for House/Senate leadership like the DNC wanted, the DNC would cut them, or even their whole state off financially. Even if that meant a Republican won the seat.
The DNC didn’t elect a neo liberal that would go along with that. But the DNC chair election was after the House/Senate leadership elections, there won’t be another till the next Congress after midterms.
That’s why there’s the disconnect you’re talking about.
