I have tried to do this before and idk it was very messy and i didn’t feel like it was worth it i still just do wedges. I wouldn’t do a half even of a key lime but 4 wedges squeeze just fine.
I was thinking surely the wedges would produce a similar effect, but thought maybe this is better somehow. With your confirmation, I think I might just remove this post since it’s not actually a very useful guide.

Step 4 is to resist the urge to reassemble them and cut them in halves.
Hot glue will fix that
Squeeze them, I presume. It seems to be suggesting that you’ll get more juice out of squeezing those smaller pieces by hand than if you just cut it in half and tried to squeeze it.
