Idk, I feel like him surviving is the better outcome. Republicans would have ridden the “Martyr” angle until the end of time. And while it would have been hard for the party to transfer his cult to someone else, it would happen eventually. Chances are, the person taking over would have been much smarter.

Have him chase an underage girl into a wall that has a tunnel painted on it. Put him in a comically unsafe submarine to check out the Titanic…

Without Trump, who do the republicans have? De Santis? Nah. Martyr means nothing if there’s no realistic second choice.
