i have encountered some polish teens who want to learn about the language, culture, and don’t have any problem with the people, but i have known that some polish adults HATE russia due to all the wars and how in russia, polish had to learn russian.

Uh, most obvious likely cause to me is that Polish adults grew up under Soviet rule while Polish teens didn’t.

Poland was never part of the Soviet Union. Unless they lived in the USSR and later moved to Poland, they did not “grow up under Soviet rule”.

Ticky tacky over definition. USSR invaded without “technically declaring war” and the “technically sovereign” Polish government was heavily under Soviet influence. If I ask a Pole who was in charge before 1989, they’ll say the Kremlin.

It is a fact that Polish adults lived under a very different system pre-1989 and have a perspective that Polish teens don’t. That’s the question being asked by OP, that’s the questions I offered what I saw as a likely contributor.

I have stated no opinion on whether I think Russia’s involvement up until 1989 is good or bad and I am 0% interested in that particular fight with Russian bots and defenders. Have a good one.

Never let someone coming back to correct and clarify their statement get in the way of being crowned Technically Correct on an Internet Forum. Jeebus, read the question.

Oh sorry, I must have missed the bit where you corrected yourself, I just saw the bit where you tried to deflect it as “ticky tacky over definition”

And I must have missed where you where anything but pedantic in a way that didn’t add to OPs question.

I guess I should correct myself on another topic. Putin isn’t really invading Ukraine, he was invited there. There’s no war because he hasn’t officially declared it.

You’ll have to explain the relevance of that question, please, I’m not seeing the connection.

If I ask a Pole who was in charge before 1989, they’ll say the Kremlin.

If you ask a lib who’s in charge of the economy, they’ll say the invisible hand of the market. Doesn’t mean it’s true.

Uh, go back to the question. It’s asking about perception and why a Polish adult (who experienced Society influence before 1989) might have a different perspective than a Polish teen (who didn’t).

You’re looking for a fight that doesn’t exist with me, bud.
