Me 2 years ago: Windows, Reddit, Twitter, Gmail

Me now: Linux, Lemmy, Mastodon, Proton

The pipeline is real. No programming socks so far, though.

I never understood (still can’t) the need for Twitter. I always thought people used that platform to stalk famous people and officials (I have no idea why they started to use that platform).

Since, they are (famous people) mostly not on mastodon, I can’t understand why people need Mastodon.

If I need people’s opinions on anything Lemmy is there, right?

I’m not degrading Mastodon or anything in any manner, But I’m simply curious.

I started using Twitter mostly to follow journalists and scientists, as you say. There are actually quite a few of them on Mastodon, so it scratches that itch for me. I haven’t logged in to Twitter for about a year and a half now. I find Reddit is the harder one to quit, simply because Lemmy hasn’t quite reached that critical mass. I still use both every day. I suppose Twitter was also easier to quit because it’s mostly Nazis now.

yup that’s me now too. Linux, Lemmy, Mastodon, and Vivaldi Email. Even went old school and decided to download my music again which wth playlist-dl and cmus makes it so easy. find a song/album/playlist I like and just rip it right to my library.

It’s just amazing how easier things get when you decide to step outside the norm. What I love about Linux is you can think “hmm, I kinda want to do this on my PC” and boom, someone has already thought of it and made it possible for you.

Succumb to your temptations… skip dual booting and vms… nuke your Windows partition with Gentoo… you know you want to

it’s the reason I made the move from windows. don’t regret it. My computer just runs so much better now that i’m using linux. easily doubled the FPS of all my games.

    New to Linux

That’s the most obvious lie I’ve seen in a while. You could’ve at least made the setup look a bit worse or something so it’s possible for average users to somewhat believe it’s made by a new user. /s
