The amount of respect that I’ve lost for my family over the past decade is immeasurable. They taught me right from wrong, and now they’re surprised that I think differently from them. My brother is the only one I’m still close with; everyone else I’ve been keeping at increasingly large distances. I used to call Mom almost every day, and now I’m lucky if I call her once a week.
Honestly I can very much relate. Both my parents are boomers and lifelong conservatives. Our relationships have always been strained but I’m questioning if I should or can even keep contact with them at this point. I’m revolted that they’re both Trump voters and supporters.

I used to think they were intelligent, but the way they just drink the conservative business billionaire worship flavoraid is embarrassing. Fortunately, my younger sister is equally frustrated talking to them, and we often talk about their ignorance.
