To some degree I think it is inevitable, a lot of their influence is predicated on being the sole superpower and their imperialism. We can see that right now with the advent of other multpolar power blocs.

I think things can be done to accelerate that decline, many of which the US themselves are engaged in, but I don’t think it will be a sudden revolution right now. I think we will continue to see a gradual decline in US influence as other actors get stronger and stronger while the US pretends everything is fine. I think by the time we see actual revolution in the US the USA as an empire won’t really exist anymore.

Adding to this, there is no guarantee that revolution will be socialist either. It is more likely that the US balkanizes and descends into civil war between multiple factions that will occupy and go to war over different territories.

There may be socialist projects of various tendencies that arise and form from whatever entities take the US’s place. However, I don’t believe the US as it currently exists on its mainland would likely ever become socialist. Of course, anything’s possible.

When the rest of the world eventually embraces a socialist future, they will look upon the US the same way we look at the pathetic dwindling monarchies still existing in our current age of global capitalism.

That might even be the best realistic outcome for such a stupid and vicious culture; letting them bomb themselves for a while at least creates a reprieve for the rest of the world.
