  • Yeah it’s pretty much garbage

It’s not even trying to get you to do anything. Just phrased as a bizarre self introduction about how much he likes nuking places. A lot of scams here are phrased in that exact way “Hi, I am name! My hobbies are…”. I used to get about ten text messages like that a day.

Not really sure what the goal of this particular one is. I am not aware of anyone with that name even they’re trying to target.

  • I have always worked in some form of customer service, which has all kinds of…fun moments. Highschool through university I worked in restaurants. Got the full gamut of rude customers, customers rolling in thirty seconds before close, etc. Had a customer try to pay us in cocaine once, which we do not accept as legal tender.

I am in [luxury] hospitality now and have had to deal with all kinds of entitled jerks and celebrities. Including some heads of states that I have very strong negative opinions about. The mid tier CEOs are the worst though, because they think they are far more important than they actually are. Had a guy call the police while he was checking out because he didn’t want “a foreigner” handling his luggage.

Saved us the effort of blacklisting him, because the police obviously escorted him out instead.

  • Honestly even if China DID just randomly decide to invade Russia for no apparent reason, it wouldn’t cause WW3. Every western imperialist would be having the party of their life while they let them fight it out/ They would be fucking thrilled, nobody would dare get involved to the point it would become a world war. They’d have massive balkanization parties where they figured out who would get which piece of each country.

Of course, the chances of that happening are about as likely as the US withdrawing all their occupation forces from bases around the world.

What is far more likely to cause WW3 is probably the “country” bombing other countries, staging a yet ongoing genocide, and assassination foreign leaders extra-judicially.

  • Iran has some of the most sophisticated missile systems out there. Defense systems are alway playing catchup, so I do not doubt that they could easily overwhelm “Israel’s” countermeasures. They could probably level everything if they wanted to, but seem to be focused on solely military targets for the time being.

Could they be inflating their numbers to make themselves look better? Yes probably, most every government would do the same and I am sure anywhere there is a range of damage they are going to err on the high side of their estimates. But it isn’t a stretch to assume that a country that has basically built their entire defensive doctrine around the ability to missile strike anywhere with extreme efficacy is able to do exactly that. This is basically Iran’s area of expertise.

  • Nothing too unexpected, it is Russian media and yeah it often has a Russian bias. I don’t think it is any better or worse about that than any other news channel. Sometimes they have had good coverage about things, and sometimes they don’t.

Is it technically propaganda? Sure, just as much as any other news sources are. Propaganda isn’t necessarily untrue. I think trying to filter news to some pure unbiased ideal is an exercise in futility. But that isn’t at all what western forces are trying to do with RT. They just don’t want contrary viewpoints.

  • This is correct, I use a US PS5 in Japan and there is no issue.

I just have multiple PSN accounts for different regions. Even if you wanted to use the off-region PSN account outside that region you could, you would just have to do some workarounds to fund the digital wallet. Though there are plenty of sites that sell PSN codes that would work, I have used in the past and never been an issue.

    It…depends probably.

You can definitely build a competent gaming PC for less than a PS5, depending on the games you want to play. If you are playing like Factorio and Rimworld, you don’t need a 4090 or something like that.

I think a PS5 is probably better value if you are just looking at raw tech specs for technically demanding games. Historically consoles (except sometimes Nintendo consoles) are sold at a loss because the platform holder makes money back on software. I have no idea if this is true for the Pro, though I imagine it is.

But on the high-end, PCs are definitely more expensive. The PC I just built cost me several times more than a PS5 Pro would have. It is almost certainly technically more powerful than the Pro would be and I can do a lot more with it besides just play games.

For me, makes no sense to replace my PS5 with a Pro. I don’t even care about the whole disc drive thing people are in arms about, I haven’t bought a physical game since the PS3 era. My PS5 has a drive that has never been used once. I just don’t really see the benefit of the upgrade when I have the base version and a PC already.

  • I don’t think there is a one size fits all answer.

I ask these questions mostly rhetorically, please don’t answer anything that would run the risk of doxing yourself unnecessarily.

Do you speak other languages? Which ones? If not, are you willing to put the effort in to learn?

Do you have any career skills, what are they? If you are highly educated and have specialized skills (especially if you are something like an accomplished scientist) then it is a LOT easier.

What kind of lifestyle do you expect? Do you want something comparable to the USA? Do you want a more agrarian lifestyle?

Do you want to retain US citizenship? If not, some countries can be difficult to naturalize at.

For comparison, I left the US when I was very young and have lived my entire adult life in Japan. It’s not perfect. While I hold out hope that comrades here will make progress (and we do in some areas), we have existed as lapdogs of the USA for a very long time at this point. Would I recommend it to other people? Honestly, depends.
