Ok, so nobody come for me, I was shopping at Walmart months ago, and stumbled across some Nair, never used it before & I saw it said hair removal, I’m thinking

“hey this is pretty cool” I mean right ? Just slap it on like lotion & rub the hair off ? No taking the time to shave and get in all the nooks & crannies, alright well fast forward to now I really needed to get soft tonight right, but I didn’t have a good razor, busted open the bathroom cabinets, there she is, the holy grail (I’m thinking), I’m reading the bottle wondering why the hell haven’t I already been doing this! Alright, lock the bathroom doors strip my clothes off, I start applying that shit like my life depended on it, bottle said lay it on thick, don’t rub it in! Alright I set a timer for 10 minutes, alarm goes off I grab my dry towel, I start going to town scrubbing the absolute fuck out of my body, I’m ready to feel like a new woman! Immediately my vagina lips are IN FUCKING FLAMES, my asshole is screaming, all 1 can do is try to get it the hell off! I wipe down my legs and hop in the shower, BAM water is hotter than the preachers wife on resurrection day, fuck my skin is practically melting at this point, start rubbing conditioner all over myself, grab the shower head and try to just get it off, get out of shower, can’t even dry myself off, my skin is crying, run up stairs grab the phone I look up what to do, it says put petroleum jelly on the burned areas, I do just that, everything feels alright at this point, 30 minutes later I have to go pee, I bee bop down the stairs with no worries, drop my shorts sit down & start peeing, now l’m really in some fucking trouble the pee is attacking my vag lips like a goddamn hornets nest, I jump in the shower, start hosing off with cool water, run upstairs grab my phone again look up once again WTF DO I DO, it says maximum strength baby desitin, ok I slapped that shit on now I’m sitting here writing this hoping & praying it works & if not my only other way out is someone on here knows what do I do! PLEASE COME FORWARD if you can put the fire out between my legs 🥹

If you read the instructions, that is for body hair and not your lady junk and starfish. You are also suppose to test the hair melting cream out on a small spot to make sure you don’t have an abnormal reaction. There is a nair for sensitive areas. You will have to wait it out.

The burning will stop, but things may get pretty gnarly looking and you will want to apply a moisturizing lotion to help with dry skin or scabs. You may want to seek medical care if it is like road rash bad or doesn’t calm the fuck down.

I found that it didn’t all come off on the first attempt. I used a cool shower and washed it off. Soap didn’t seem to help, but if I recall, it was a few years ago, sorbolene did help wash it off.

Ultimately it’s likely still in your pores and causing grief. I was still pulling hairs off days later.

I didn’t need an immediate result, so not quite the perilous journey that you are experiencing.

    Good luck.

Nope. Everyone who uses Nair needs to feel the chemical burns at least once. I’m pretty sure it says not to use it on sensitive bits though.

I uh… Don’t really have a lot to help you with your direct situation, but I do know that nair is designed to (mildly) chemically burn you. That’s how it destroys the hair. Make sure you have it all off of you so it doesn’t continue to work (it sounds like you did but it bears repeating). From there it should just be time until it stops feeling uncomfortable.

In the interim, you could take something OTC to manage the pain, if appropriate. Motrin/ibuprofen/paracetamol, whatever you’ve got on hand to deal with aches and pains. That should help you deal while it’s actively hurting, and hopefully by the time the medicine wears off, it’ll be back to feeling normal.

Edit: I’m not sure what Destin is - double check to make sure it doesn’t interact with whatever pain medicine you take.

Desitin is a thick diaper cream, 40% zinc oxide, the rest is cod liver oil, lanolin, beeswax, glycerin, vitamin E. It smells awful, but it works. It’s quite safe for sensitive areas, seems to be pH neutral. If it is safe for rashy baby bum, it’s safe enough for anything. Source: Never leave home without it.
