A lot of people, and rightly so, are upset with the war in going on in Gaza. I put forward the following assertions:

  • A ceasefire is a good thing.
  • Without US support Israel wouldn’t continue its war.
  • US support would falter if Israel endangers US citizens.
  • there are many US citizens who want the war to stop.

Given these assertions I would say it follows that:

If a sufficient number of US citizens landed in Gaza the war would have to stop.

What follows is a very rough itemization of the costs of travel in USD:

  • 25 Million for a used cargo ship
  • 20 days *
    • 50k in gas
    • 10k people * $20 in food

25 + 1.2 + (incidentals) ~= 30 Million

Would this be feasible to do with crowd funding? Would this be feasible to do in general? Would this be effective?

Note: I don’t really know the legality of such an endeavor. This is a thought experiment.
