I have a 1920’s roll-top desk that is in okay condition but needs restoration.
I got it off the side of a driveway thinking I would restore it but I just have too many projects.
At this point I would like to give it to anyone who would want it. Anyone have any ideas? I don’t really want to do craigslist or anything like that because I don’t want a bunch of random folks coming to my house.
Craigslist is fine if you use the email relay ( don’t use your phone number ) and pre-vet people. You can usually get a sense of who is legit. As far as coming to your house, andly stranger could they don’t need a craigslist invite. Just don’t say “today doesn’t work because I’m not home.” You can also check if there is a local hobby group on Facebook Market place.
You may want to include a photo of the piece, ideally many photos from various angles.
But to be frank, unless you find someone within a max 1 hour’s travel distance, it’s not likely someone will be found who is also willing to take on this project. Wood furniture is, for all its pros and cons, heavy.

Whenever I get an idea for a project, this is always the following thought. “Ugh, I don’t wanna have to move that.”
