Why is that? I love my Linux PCs but you should not underestimate the mental barrier of considering Linux as a new user. Starting with Mac OS is like a soft start into it. And the apple silicone machines are powerful af. I use one as ML server and it performs well. Oh and the privacy by design is still pretty good in Mac OS.

You assume people know what you mean. I think you cannot just say „collapse“ without stating what exactly is collapsing and how. That would obviously change the direction of preparation. I’m not prepping but I’m electricity independent and i plan to use meshtastic because I think it’s fun. At least that would help in case of a communication network collapse. Not that I care about that.

I’m new here and it’s quite a relaxed experience. I think there are more friendly and reflected people. It’s like people here are able to criticise properly and take criticism and also encourage and praise a little. I thought this was lost since early internet. But also very political / activist. I feel like in a bubble of people who want to change things for the sake of people and not capital. As much as I like it we’re not enough. I don’t care there are not many comments. Thanks for the insights. I’m happy and unhappy at the same time to learn. I know mass migration is happening and will accelerate. I just meant that Europeans will not be the refugees but the part receiving migration. And it will be terrible since no refugee is welcome anymore anywhere. Even people from warzones, which is easier to grasp than people fleeing from climate effects. Truely concerning.

“Being affected by“ is a very general statement. Of course everyone is being affected. But in the middle of Europe people won’t need to become refugees due to unliveable conditions, burning, drought, starvation etc. So it will be more immediate around the equator I guess.
