  • Doesn’t twitter force you to make an account to see posts?

No… I don’t think I could have taken a glance at his twitter/x page. I don’t have an account. Every time someone tries to show me something from twitter I just get the login page. I’m not going to go through the trouble of making a sockpuppet account just because you gave me a chore I clearly don’t care about. If you need me to see it so badly you can take a screenshot. You’re the one who cares about this guy so talking about him is 100% your responsibility. If you want me to care about him too, that’s on you to accomplish, because I don’t care about him naturally.

If you’re the person who states a fact it’s up to you to prove it, it’s not up to your listener, who btw isn’t going to care until you give them a reason to care. You are a stranger and we don’t have a built in social contract so I have even less motivation to do something in order to please you than I would if we actually knew each other.

I tried to click on your link but it took me to something called X cancel, which I navigated away from. Thanks for sending me a phishing link instead of a screenshot, now I’ve got to go change my passwords.

  • There are some ‘legit’ apps that do this, for the purpose of targeting you with ads. Hard to believe, but some people want to be specifically catered to with ads. There are also a lot of poor people who sign up to these things to make a few extra dollars and get free samples from review sites, which is kind of in the same category of website/app. For example I knew someone who got paid to review Chromebooks or Netbooks or something from a Chinese manufacturer. There are survey sites and apps too, and other data collection apps which pay users small amounts of money for small amounts of data.

However what your cousin was doing sounds even more sketchy than that. It sounds like the sort of thing that will somehow turn out to be crime.

  • Louis CK is really funny, I haven’t seen his new stuff. I thought Chappelle was funny, but he’s not funny anymore. It’s not because he’s transphobic or homophobic now or whatever, I’m against those things, but a skilled comedian can make me involuntarily laugh at those kinds of jokes. It’s because he’s been replaced by a slightly fatter and unfunny clone. I don’t think he came back from hiatus and he’s still in Africa, this slightly fatter dude was made by Viacom I’m convinced. This dude is fatter, taller, and has a different skin tone, maybe that’s just from staying inside and eating dorritos or whatever he does, but he’s a different person at least metaphorically.
