This is the first time I realize that this famous image was not “designed” to simulate what a stroke feels like visually, it was just serendipity. They were probably just really trying to generate an image of a living room, but the AI image generators were still in its infancy.

Wat ik me kan voorstellen is dat als je “enkel” een huis erft dat je dan opgezadeld wordt met belasting die je niet kunt betalen tot je het huis hebt verkocht; en als dat dan een slecht onderhouden geval is levert dat wellicht veel gedoe.

Verder kan ik me niet zo veel problemen indenken met verhoging van de erfbelasting. Jaarlijks gradueel verhogen lijkt me netjes, zodat mensen niet op 1 januari net vergeleken met de buurman op 31 december fors “buiten de boot vissen”, om teveel gezeur van jan/alleman te voorkomen.

I imagine it started with some sub-installations actually giving approximations that were acceptable and summed up, but then some finalizing was not taken into account or something needed to be added after the other processes are finished, and the deadline was close. That last part builds up over time with other quick additions and some annoying stuff that is actually quite performance heavy and not easy to incorporate through the whole installation. “Let’s do it at the end as well.”

No time / budget to change the 100% to 99% as they have to adjust calculations based on the processes that actually do a good job. Although a display change could fake it, priorities are elsewhere.

Yeah, we live in a weird world based around absurd prudish values. I do believe it’s increasingly less frowned upon in some European countries, especially Denmark in my experience.
