taco@anarchist.nexustoUnited States | News & Politics@midwest.social•University of Utah new rules allow open carry of firearms on campus English0·17 days agoI think you’re the one misunderstanding, if you think the link or anything in my first comment is related to the reciprocity map. I’m talking about who is eligible to get the Utah permit; the map doesn’t matter if you can’t get it.
As I mentioned, this has the inherent assumption that the UT permit isn’t worth getting if you’ve already got your own state’s permit. There are a few exceptions (e.g., resident of some of the southern states traveling to Washington state), but if you already have your home permit then you’ll be nearly as covered without the UT permit as with it.
taco@anarchist.nexustoUnited States | News & Politics@midwest.social•University of Utah new rules allow open carry of firearms on campus English0·17 days agoIt seems like it only adds WI, NC, and WA over the list of states that allow permitless carry.
If you’ve already got your state’s permit, you’re probably not going to gain much at this point by adding Utah’s.
I’m not sure where you see it’s only valid in 15 states though
The link in my comment, specifically by adding up the checks in the column of states that don’t require your home state’s permit and also honor the Utah standard one.
taco@anarchist.nexustoUnited States | News & Politics@midwest.social•University of Utah new rules allow open carry of firearms on campus English0·17 days agofun fact: The Utah concealed carry permit comes with reciprocity in most of the states and you can obtain one via mail even if you aren’t a resident of Utah.
It seems that getting the Utah permit without already having your home state’s only works in 15 states and, of them, only Vermont recognizes the Utah permit: https://bci.utah.gov/concealed-firearm/reciprocity-with-other-states/
It might be worth it in some situations, but generally not going to be an comparable alternative to getting a permit in your own state.
It depends on whether you’re the vibe coder or the guy that just fired the vibe coder hired by your predecessor.

I’d jumped from dbzer0 to piefed.social because I like the software better, so this post was a nice way to kick off the day.
I’m pretty sure the “after release” setting is just based on when the first match appears on the indexers, not the air date in the metadata. So the initial release isn’t going to be a factor.
I don’t see this issue, but I’ve got fairly intricate profiles setup based on the TRaSH guides. I suspect some combination of those profiles filter things out for me. Is there anything obvious in the problematic downloads you could filter out with a profile, like a format or release group?
