In addition to pumping real estate valuation, it seems like moves like this are a form of cutting workers without having to do layoffs. They know a large number of workers are wont be able to readjust, and will have to quit.

thank you, that was what i saw. I was fully expecting to find articles that would back it up, (why else would you make such a claim?) but nope. I couldnt find anything to support it.
Im a big fan of the BBC edition, but its odd thats on CNN - anyone tried watching it yet?
it was in a discussion on Bluesky, but nothing official.
I tried finding more info but couldn’t, so theres probably nothing to it. I’ll delete my previous comment as it was just unfounded rumours
I agree. The game development side of Nintendo are top notch, and care a lot about quality game design, fun, replayability, all the good stuff. These people do good work.
But the corporate/legal side of Nintendo, they are indeed raging assholes.
I read somewhere Palworld outright stole and used a number of Pokemon models was the majority of the case here, not just “Nintendo doesnt like that Palworld is similar because they’re overly litigious”
i mean, nintendo are overly litigious, but if this is the case it makes more sense.
cliched yes, but I will always remember how scared as hell I was playing Silent Hill for the first time in high school, when you go down that dutch angle alleyway and the evil toddlers stab you to death…
i couldnt play any more for a few days haha, it was truly a scary as hell experience in a game.
thank you very much!! 👏
Hey other automakers looking for an exciting new feature, you can always advertise NOT snooping as a feature and “add value” without having to do squat. Think about it, less scummy companies! (if they still exist)
Whats the best way to play Sim Ant these days? Ive always wanted to try it
How is it remotely euphamistic to say a career prosector believes in enforcing the law?
Voting for Harris is ill advised if we are concerned about fascism? Are you really saying this with Trump on the ticket?
Where are you getting this? Also NPR is center-right, they havent been on “the left” for a good while
true. This article has a responsiblly worded headline, but it only takes one outlet to get the words just wrong enough…
“he was met mainly with inaction because, he says, of fears about the amount of work involved or the cost”
No kidding, engagement drives their whole business model. And nothing engages and addicts people more than violent, hateful shit.
And its not just young men (though they are more heavily targeted) the algorithm can hijack almost any viewing pattern and steer it in a violent, xenophobic direction in a remarkably short time.
They arent going to change the algorithm unless serious action is taken by government regulation, or something (which is not a promising thought)
their resources are spread thin, Im sure a significant effort is being focused on helping Trump
edit: I read the bill, its here: https://www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca/civix/document/id/bills/billscurrent/5th42nd:gov22-1
It specifically focusses on protests on school grounds, or protests that impede access to schools. Thats it. Where does it mention other kinds of protest?
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/b-c-ban-protests-outside-schools-1.7170029
from the article:
Eby says the province has counted 18 major disruptions at schools across the province since the start of the school year, and several more before September, including demonstrators banging on classroom windows at a school in Burns Lake.
“[It’s] concerning, frightening, alarming and it makes school feel like a not safe place,” he said.
Eby said all of the incidents the province has counted involved demonstrators against SOGI 123 — the province’s optional educational resource for teaching about sexual orientation and gender identity — but said the law is content-neutral and will be applied equally regardless of the cause.
what! You mean he stands to profit billions after lying about his intentions?! A techbro would never!!
