Why have I had to wait two and a half years to receive this important information?

Skimming through [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Years_of_Lead_(Italy)#:~:text=The_Years_of_Lead_(Italian,political_terrorism_and_violent_clashes.), most of the attacks seemed to focus on politicians, police, and (disproportionately) members of the public.

A lot of the glee about the CEO murder is that his company’s actions are indefensible, and, as CEO he is responsible for them. It’s very difficult to say the same of the victims of the Years of Lead - many seem to be police, random members of the public, or other members of the same group. With the possible exception of some politicians, it’s hard to see how the victims were responsible for much.

Realistically, can/will anything be done, even for a greater chance at a Conservative minority, never mind an ABC government?

The Liberals have been running on “we aren’t the Conservatives” since the early 2000s. They got into government when they articulated a vision in 2015. It helped that Harper had hit his sell-buy date, but whatever.

The ABC thing feels like crying wolf. It only works for so long. Meanwhile, the Liberals haven’t provided a vision (or likeable policy) since the pandemic. It’s easy to see why voters want to switch it up.

Doesn’t Twitter hide the usernames of people in the thread but still notify them? I thought it had some quality of life tweak that made conversations a bit easier to read.

They don’t currently interact properly. When a Mastodon post shows up in Lemmy, it doesn’t have an appropriate title, the body usually has a bunch of mentions, and the responses aren’t worded like normal Lemmy comments.

I can’t speak to protocol interoperability, but culturally, Mastodon posts rarely work in Lemmy.

This is just a Trump power play, it has no basis in reality, but it strokes his ego and forces others to scramble.

A lot of people are hurting economically. A handful of the population came out of the pandemic better than they went in, but most have been nailed hard by inflation. People expect to be worse off than their parents.

It’s the result of decades of mismanagement (from Liberals and Conservatives), but for whatever reason, the right seems to be doing a much better job of capitalizing on it.

Who is this Sims guy? The first I heard of him was because his home had been vandalized. Then the Globe did a thing on how casually he dresses (ugh), and now this.

Last time I checked Wikipedia, it said basically nothing about his policies.

Props to the campaigners who kept the regulation on the books. And the councilors who figured their shit out.

We might be hitting tipping points due to climate change. Methane being released from permafrost, ocean currents in the north Atlantic stopping/slowing and fucking over Europe.

That will mess with food production. It’s gonna be bad for us and worse for our kids.

It’s never too late to pick up a good habit.

Realistically, our terrible productivity and China’s lax environmental/safety standards seem like they’re gonna doom this effort, but I’m all for trying.

There’s two ends of the spectrum. The bottom twenty percent who are screwed; the middle sixty who saw their effective income decrease enough that it hurts, but they still have some buying power; and the top twenty who can afford investments.

I’d guess that folks at the top end are buying vehicles for fun, while the majority of us are buying vehicles to get to work.
