I have one of those floating around here too, the thing I didn’t care for with that model was that the blade doesn’t stick out very far. The one-handed action is nice tho. The one I carry every day is this one https://a.co/d/29pk73c but it’s not currently available.
Slider style EDC utility knife. Small, lightweight, and because the blades are cheap and easily replaced you can abuse them - cut on concrete, pry stuff, if it breaks the blade, not a big deal.

The idea of choosing being served raw should be enough to track it down, and I’ve occasionally searched for it over the years, but…
The short story that sticks with me from junior high, that I have not been able to track down in the last 40 years or so, was if I remember right another lottery style tale. I think it was just the husband and the one chosen was eaten by the rest of the community - the twist was that the eatee got to choose the method of preparation, and in the story, he chose to be served raw. Anyone recall this story? I’d love to track it down.

This is a good place to start for helmets. They have the same sort of ratings for different sports so if nothing in the equestrian list looks good, you should check the bicycle list. Note that it’s not necessarily current for everything but it’s a good starting point.
Yeah it just doesn’t let up here for a few months. I don’t think we’re going to hit the record set last year for 110°+ days (55 iirc.) I bike early morning when it’s “cool” at 85°ish. Cause doing stuff outside in the middle of the day gets you this.

No cable locks. Bad, and you get what you deserve.
Something that’s a pain in the ass to cut. Nothing is impossible to cut, but a decent u-lock, good chain, good folder, is the way to go. if you are regularly locking up in a specific place, you might be able to leave a heavier lock (chain) there and not have to haul it around.
Something noisy. A brake disc alarm, or two of them, that go off with movement. Getting attention is good.
If it’s an e-bike, take the battery with you.
My goal is to make stealing my bike more of a pain than moving on to the next bike, probably secured with a cable lock from Walmart. It might take five minutes to steal my bike and 20 seconds to steal the next guy’s, about all you can really do.
Finally, have insurance. This world is full of fucking assholes.
I have the same GX groupset on two bikes - both 12 speed. One is AXS, the other is cable. The AXS shifter never misses. Ever. Can’t say that about the cable, which I’ve adjusted many times. I think it’s a great upgrade.
It’s also something I can work on, repair, etc. I don’t think that’s going to be the case with the upcoming setup where the gearing is colocated with the motor, and there’s no derailleur. That’s going to be a shop (or probably even manufacturer) repair.
