The modern US hasn’t fought a war with someone right next door, who looks and talks like them. Not only would it be hard to hold captured cities, but I think many Canadian fighters would walk across that massive unsecured border and start fucking up US resources like electrical stations, water supplies, subway systems, internet backbones, government buildings, . It is super easy to buy guns and ammo in the US, bombs are not hard to make. We would have a fair amount of local support as well.

We Canadians could just walk around the US in public and you’ve never know it.

I don’t know anyone in Canada still planning trips to the USA. My cousin spends 2-3 months out of the year in California. She’s been doing it for 10 years now. She had cancelled all those plans going forward.

There is even more of a risk for Canadians to go to the US. It’s always been dangerous in the US with the insane amount of guns in the average idiots hands, but now we’ve got Ice Bros itching to hurt people as well. Fuck that noise.

The US really doesn’t offer us anything we can’t get from another safer country.

The girlfriend and I (both Canadian in Canada) were just planning a summer trip to Niagara Falls like 30 minutes ago. Neither of us have been. We were looking at flights and didn’t realize we were looking at flights to Niagara Falls airport in the US. We were both like “Whoa. Nope!”

If this had been last year, we would have flown into either airport and visited both sides of the border. But there is not a chance in hell I’m crossing to the US side during this trip. I’m absolutely not taking a chance of wrecking my vacation, or weeks of my life, getting nabbed by some Nazi Ice Bro and shipped to a detention camp in Arizona.

I heard the US and Canada haven’t even had a phone call yet. This is the way. Just ignore the orange idiot.

If he throws a tariff, don’t bother talking to them. Just respond with a like tariff to red states and move on with life. Talking doesn’t do anything with Trump and he’s a fucking liar and will go back on previous deals anyway. There is no point in a discussion.

I personally don’t have the time in my life right now to go to the US, not have the correct paperwork depending on the mood of someone in charge, and ending up in a detention camp in Arizona for two weeks.

I hope they grow Gros Michel bananas. These were the bananas that everyone ate until the crops were wiped out in the 50s by fungus. Artificial banana flavours always has more flavour and a richer taste than the common Cavendish banana. This flavour is mimicking the Gros Michel.

I’ve never had one, but they are still grown today but never in numbers for global export.

Honestly, I don’t want any states to be part of Canada. Not at least until the Americans in those states undergo some deprogramming.

American’s have some crazy fucked up views on how the world works. Things like guns are a “god given right” and more guns in a society makes that society safer. We don’t need that insanity in Canada.

I doubt that. He fucked up the first time around, broke shit, wrecked things, stole classified documents, convicted of 34 felons, stole PPE from blue states to kill them during covid and millions needlessly died during covid. What happened? Nothing. People don’t really remember any of that. He was never punished for any of his actions or crimes.

Trump is the prime example of American hubris and apathy.

I’m in Prince Edward Island Canada where food prices are normally a bit higher. Generic eggs cost about $5 for 12. The same store in Vancouver sells these for $3.93. I don’t buy a ton of eggs from regular stores, but I don’t think this prices has changed much in the last couple of years.

Personally, I get my eggs from a local farm for $5 a dozen.
