As far as I’m aware, the big “problem” with Mastodon (and the Fediverse as a whole) is that you have to choose an instance to join. It’s an aditional step that mainstream social media does not have and it’s already enough to push regular people away. Wonder, Pikmin 4, Street Fighter 6, Alan Wake 2, The Talos Principle 2, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Final Fantasy XVI, Hi-Fi Rush, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Lies of P, Pizza Tower, most of these would win GOTY if they had come out this year instead.

That’s the arcade one. The other one is probably season 4, episode 8, “The Vat of Acid Episode”. Morty gets a real-life saving device that allows him to go back to any previous moment in time where he has defined a save. He then falls in love with a girl and lives a long time happily with her, and forgets about the saving device. Eventually, he accidentally goes back to the save point he had made and realized he has lost the relationship with the girl and is again a complete stranger to her. That one hits hard.

I don’t think it’s that deep. Deadlock, the game they mention in their rant, also has a pretty diverse roster. I think Concord just looks very generic both in gameplay and in character designs.
