Linux@programming.dev•New Rule Forbids GNOME Shell Extensions Made Using AI Generated Code
11·15 days agoWe still talking about extensions, right? Those things in gnome, that shows weather or time in different time zone?
Cause if yes, your response is kinda weird. Oh no, my weather applet is created using AI! Everything will fall apart! Jesus Christ, we need to burn author for that!

Linux@programming.dev•New Rule Forbids GNOME Shell Extensions Made Using AI Generated Code
12·15 days agoBut if we talking about extensions, no one will debug your code. There like, 5 extensions that used consistently and others have 5-10 downloads. We have like, 5 extensions to hide top bar, cause each time developer just give up, so I don’t really understand this “rule” and reasons behind it.
How dare you bring logic in our conversation? You even attached sources of your information? That it, you done it, I’ll report you!

Second that. Also, I’m sure everyone at Remedy perfectly knew that there will be close to zero profit from sales on EGS. Things like that planned beforehand.
While I also have no clue what the guy above talking… Let me just note how amazing your nickname is.
Even Debian gets regular kernel upgrades that like a reboot afterwards

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•A more reliable way to use Steam chat on LinuxEnglish
1·21 days agoSluggish? It’s absolute nightmare on Hyprland: whole client crash randomly on opening/closing games, steam in game UI sometimes crash game/stuck/grabs input/does not appear and steam chat just have all those problems incorporated within it, with a bonus inability to correct words (menu with choices does appear, but choosing correct word does nothing).
Dunno, maybe Hyprland is the issue here, for a while it even required workaround in hypr config, to have working sub-menus. But I also tried Gnome and most problems remain. Most probably it still isn’t optimized for wayland.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Why won’t Steam Machine support HDMI 2.1? Digging in on the display standard drama.
5·24 days agoCause device targets couch gaming with TV. TVs don’t have DP, they have HDMI.
For shit and giggles, it should be on Arch Wiki too.
How that weirdo in jacket once said?
The more you buy, the more you save
Do you wanna talk about it? Do you perhaps need a pawjob?
Lemmy not without problems too. Biased weird mods, small user base = not a lot of content and platform itself that lacking in some crucial functionality, like choosing comment layout by default (for example: always showing top comment). It sure are fixable problems, but will they be fixed? Who knows.
I think most slavic languages in general, not just polish.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Valve compatibility layer for running Android games on Linux gets official name in Steam documentationEnglish
9·26 days agoYeah, most of “exciting” and impressive android games — either ports from big platform: Subnautica, Alien: Isolation, Tropico, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Little Nightmares, Hitman, GTA, Dead Cells, etc. Or straight up accessible on all platforms: Wuwa, Genshin, PlantsVsZombies, etc.
That being said, there still a few games that I personally would’ve play somewhat natively, cause they never got a release outside of android:
- Minigore 2 (removed from play market, also doesn’t support controller/keyboard, only touchscreen, so probably a no-no)
- Subway Surfer (for nostalgia!)
- Bad piggies (supposedly ported to pc, according to wiki, but good luck finding it)
Lazors (near puzzle game, not sure about it’s fait)nevermind, actually ported and can be bought on steam- There was beta access to neat sewing puzzle game on android 5, but I can’t find it anymore, was deleted from play market it seems, would’ve play, but no luck in finding it
- Dead Space Mobile (even tho it outdated af, still, I played it back in the days, would’ve been nice to play it once more)
- Xenowerk
That probably it, tho
Wow, thank you. No, I was not aware of it, sounds like together with srb-id-pkcs11 it should do the trick, it will be wonderful to finally move my auth from windows vm.
Yes, smart card reader itself should work, the only problem is encryption of key on card and use of that key with website. That module mentioned above exactly the thing that required it seems.
Still, my point stands, cause project was created just two years ago and isn’t official in the first place. Unfortunately, government itself have no desire to support other platforms. :c

I would suggest removing genshin impact from the list and insert Wuthering Waves instead. It’s a copycat that improves on every aspect if GI, while also being somewhat better game in general:
Honestly, considering both games have shitty story telling and shitty story that no one cares about in general, just the last point should make Wuwa superior. The fact that genshin impact devs aren’t adding dialog/cutscenes skip button, while providing shittiest “stories” written by 5 years old, for every minor quest in the game — infuriating me.
