It wasn't pretty.English0·1 day agoIt mentions in the article that a similar attack would mean launching across Europe so it wouldn’t be the same, or alternatively they’d need to launch an attack from the Atlantic. So I wonder if they simulated that scanerio, or whether they simulated it as it the attack came from France?
I hate partaking in rounds. I’m a really slow drinker that can only really have two pints before feeling extremely bloated.

Who’s eating chocolate digestives at tea time?
It’s the world’s most incredible debate
Wrong
“Now up until then I’d always eaten it the other way round…You can do it exactly how you want to do it.”
Panic over!
It’s on the 28th this year, so you’re a little early!
It was good, very much enjoyed having a long weekend!
I went for a run on Saturday after totally failed the previous Sunday due to my shins hurting, and it was awful, only managed 2K at a very slow pace and had to stop, so I think I’m going to have to pack the running in for a bit until my lower legs recover. I’ve since joined the local gym to try and stay somewhat healthy, having done upper body on Monday and then lower yesterday (Wednesday) and now I’m absolutetly wrecking; I can barely move!
Sunday my Dad came over, like he normally does every Sunday for dinner. The previous week he said he was going to bring a leg of lamb over, so I’d asked him to come over much ealier so there’s time to cook it, except he came over at 17:30, and the lamb took over 2 hours to cook, so it was 20:30 by the time we actually sat down to eat. Luckily both the kids didn’t seem to mind and weren’t over tired, but it was still a little frustrating that he came over so late, especially as I was waiting around all afternoon for him to turn up.
I’ve been watching The White Lotus (on season 3 right now) and also The Long Way Up, where Ewan McGreggor and his mate Charlie travel up from South America to Los Angeles on electric bikes.
Where was other scientist when people were naming birds?

I feel like the 6T is already too large so I’d hate to get anything bigger.

Just curious how much it’ll be in the UK.
Edit: the article mentions that the 13 and 13T have 5000mAh battery, but I think they’re 6000?

Like someone else said here, carriers are big, slow targets, it’s not impossible for something to sneak past and sink them.

blackn1ght@feddit.ukOPto UK Politics@feddit.uk•Emergency law passed to force loss-making steel companies to keep operating0·14 days agoThe recall of parliament from its Easter recess, only the sixth Saturday sitting since the second world war, was ordered after negotiations with British Steel’s Chinese owners, Jingye, appeared to break down.
Opening Saturday’s debate, Reynolds said the government had been in talks with Jingye since it came to power last July and had offered “substantial” support. Most recently, Labour had offered to purchase the necessary raw materials for the blast furnaces, the last primary virgin steel-making facilities in the UK, but this had been met with a counter offer from Jingye demanding “an excessive amount” of support.
Reynolds continued: “Over the last few days, it became clear that the intention of Jingye was to refuse to purchase sufficient raw material to keep the blast furnaces running; in fact, their intention was to cancel and refuse to pay for existing orders. The company would therefore have irrevocably and unilaterally closed down primary steelmaking at British Steel.
So they were trying to shut down a critical piece of steel production for the UK, no doubt to then try and get us to purchase steel from China instead. Can see the seriousness of the situation in regards to recalling parliament to renationalise the plant.
Never heard of anyone say the second.
