I’m early Gen Z with a kinda poor family. So I had CRT’s and old VHS but also grew up on the internet.

I feel an extreme gap between me and people a few years younger. I graduated in 2018 so I was some of the last people to have a traditional highschool experience. Before Covid, Zoom, and Chatgpt.

I also mostly grew up with computers instead of phones so Im only just now getting into TikTok, I’ll likely never truly revolve around it like many others (both older and younger than me).

Don’t get distracted from the important moral of all this:

The worst unforgivable part is the end of his book has impregnated rape victims step up to defend the rapist protagonist because he “gave them” a child, while the ones that didn’t get pregnant were jealous.

He loves to bring up that the book is supposed to explore this immoral character. But this isn’t the protagonist’s viewpoint this is just how Shad thinks the world works. This is how Shad believes rape victims think.

Very sad to see, I followed him for swords and castles but Jesus Christ.

It may be understandable to view the novel as high art using pedophilic themes to craft an intriguing story, with no intention to titillate.

The exhausting thing is this literally happened. Trump shat his diaper in court and the MAGA crowd started the “Real Men Wear Diapers” bowel movement.

Oh yeah, Jezza seems great, from what I know he actively left the Mormon faith and was ostracized by most his family. He uses this experience to be a more empathetic and better person.

And Onedrive is further down in enshittification than Drive. Like windows relentlessly trying to reenable and reinstall without permission.

Overall I like it cause it’s just there and works. But I wholeheartedly would not recommend it for business applications (without backups at least). There have been instances of companies data just getting deleted or randomly banned from their google account.

In essence, I would not pay for upgraded storage.

Honestly Google Drive works great as free storage (Though for large storage there’s no guarantee they won’t accidentally delete it, it’s happened before).

And Google Suite is good enough if you can’t be bothered to get Microsoft Office. Though they’re forcing AI into it and have some weird quirks like being unable to copypaste external text with rightclick.

Had a weird compulsion when seeing an ad for a dress, went into denial and redirected my focus to something else on the ad for my feelings (a stupid looking hoodie).

When analyzing these feelings I soothed myself by thinking “maybe I could just dress up mannequins as decoration or something”.

Most egg moment of my life. It’s like my brain knew and purposely avoided it.

There was a brief window after ChatGPT when I had a twinkle in my eye and thought “this is an impressive start, how will they improve it? How will they make it more efficient?”.

That went away when all the tech companies in unison slurred out “make it bigga!” then pushed to production.

Some of the high concept type of spells you can make eventually is insane. You truly can play with forbidden magic except it’s sawblades and nukes.

Noita just has that genuine sense of awe and exploration I’ve only experienced in OuterWilds (Also a really good game, progression is story and information based, do not spoil).

Besides that I’m currently playing Paper Mario for the first time (I don’t know if remakes count on this sub).

Also Noita, if you like exploration and tinkering, and can find humor in dying a lot to physics or yourself, then I highly recommend. You could sink endless hours into it; beating the main portion of the game is jokingly referred to as the “tutorial”.

I imagine it’s because the attributes that IQ measure could be the same as we use to measure success.

Effectively if your test is based on the skills needed for STEM, and the STEM fields have jobs with high pay and respect, then you’re likely to be considered “successful”. But the same person could be awful at communication, politics, the arts, and just be ignorant at large to how the world works. They may even be hyper specialized to their field but lack the flexibility in their intelligence to understand other STEM fields (I hear physicists are guilty of this).

Another, simpler answer, could just be that already wealthy people have better access to stable education, so they were already successful in many ways.

Don’t know if this has been fixed but Gemini was telling people it’s unethical to teach people C++ or memory management.

Because it’s considered “memory unsafe” but Gemini took it literally and considered it to unsafe to teach.

Half of these just feel like Twilight Zone episodes with no moral to the story.

I’ve met four different people involved in the military and also have met four questionable people.

My dad, never got deployed, was in prison for fencing items, also owned businesses that in retrospect were suspiciously ideal for money laundering. o7

Then my childhood friend, sprayed nazi graffiti around town, went to juvie, now serves the troops. o7

Then a coworker, former military (allegedly), has a psychosis (which isn’t bad!), and was harassing his ex at her work based on delusions (which is bad). o7

Then a different coworker at a different place, active military, very authoritarian despite not knowing much and not being our supervisor. Made everyone uncomfortable and frustrated including our actual supervisor. Now he’s becoming a National Guard. o7

I feel like in the future, a highly valued skill for anyone in a public facing role is gonna be learning to get off of Twitter/Microblogs.

How many people have ruined their own reputations by just giving the internet a constant stream of their inane thoughts? Regardless of if they deserve it or not.
