For those of you that have 401Ks and Roths or other retirement accounts; look at your portfolios. I know lots of us just pick investment options based on how well the funds do over time. You should also look at the holdings, or what companies those funds are investing in. Many of my investments had NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Google as the largest holdings of the trust. I didn’t sell what I already bought, but I changed where my investments are going and made sure to pick trusts that AREN’T investing in NVIDIA and the other tech bros.

I’m a pleb. I don’t hold much power. Collectively if we change our investments we can turn off the money faucet for NVIDIA. If you’re of the mindset that the AI bubble will pop, moving your money into something else means you won’t be left holding the bag if the bubble pops. I decided to pick options where the stocks in the trust were related to minerals and mining, since those business will see growth due to the need for minerals to increase chip production. Those minerals are also important for EV and battery production as well. Still risky, but at least I’m not giving it straight to NVIDIA, and maybe the EV market side of things won’t be hit as hard when the bubble pops.

  • I’m a lesbian. I do not take offense to this image. It’s ironic because Trump is so homophobic, and it’s also a play on words regarding the legislation referred to as the “Big beautiful bill.” You’re either a bot, a Trump bootlicker, or you have a touch of the 'tism if you can’t understand irony or puns.

Yes, it’s AI. We all know it’s AI. That doesn’t make it less funny.

  • Almost a decade ago I was playing a game called paragon in development by epic games. The game was amazing, and then epic forced the devs away from what the game was, a MOBA, and forced the devs to make it more like a brawler with smaller and smaller maps. Epic ignored the community playing the game and acted shocked when the community left. While all this was going down, they were alpha testing fortnight, which was a plants, zombies clone with base building. When PubG took off, they killed Paragon, rolled the assets into fornite, and abandoned what fortnite was to turn it into a PubG copycat. (Highly recommend predecessor, a fan made remake from the released paragon assets with og heros, it’s on steam.)

Epic doesn’t have an original thought rattling around in the heads of their MBAs and C-suite. They copy what others are doing, and pray that some of the shit they fling against the wall will stick. They don’t want to take chances or innovate. Plenty of other options out there besides their game engine too. I’m looking forward to the fall of epic and EGS.

  • First, call your insurance carrier to find out who is in network, and get an idea about the costs.

Second, depending on your situation and how resilient you are, it can take years to undo learned behaviors that were used to survive or cope in your current abusive conditions. A good therapist will help you see that there are other ways to think about the things bothering you and help you develop tools to manage your emotions, set boundaries, and care for your emotional well being.

Third, it can take a while to find a provider you like. Don’t be afraid to find a new therapist if you feel like the one you have isn’t being helpful.

With respect to your insurance company, the only thing that’s going to be on file is the claim from the provider, which will list the diagnosis, and they type of service they provided, (30 minute visit, 60 minute visit.) Your claims, and explanations of benefits are protected by HIPAA law, which means only you, the insurance company, and the provider have a right to have access to those records on file with the insurance company. If your parents attempt to get those records without your permission, (a signed form,) the insurance company and provider will tell them to go fuck themselves, but in a more polite manner.

Your provider might take notes about your sessions, those are protected by HIPAA privacy law. You can expect the things you discuss with your therapist to remain private; HOWEVER, a therapist is a mandated reporter. Laws in all 50 states require a therapist to contact authorities if a patient is a danger to themselves, to others, and/or if the therapist suspects that a known child is being abused.

If your therapist is recommending medication, find a psychiatrist, do not do that shit through a primary care doctor.

  • My shitty state pension would come out to $1600 a month, (assuming I work at least 20 years,) and I’d have to wait to age 63 to take it without a reduction. Based on inflation that wouldn’t even pay my rent in retirement. (My retiree health insurance premiums would also come out of my pension.) I have no choice but to keep working when I start collecting my pension.

If social security is still there when I reach retirement, I plan to take it as soon as I can. The amount of stress, and shit healthcare here will absolutely send me to an early grave, so fuck it.
