the first step of any movement is to gather people. then do something. so yes, changing a picture is lazy, but it is a virtual rally point. he talks about next steps in another video: https://odysee.com/@rossmanngroup:a/you-changed-your-profile-to-clippy-now:6

ToxicWaste@lemmy.cafeto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Deleting my certified banger of a comment on WomensStuff because I respect the ruleEnglish810·25 days agoeasy self-check for these things:
is it OK for group A to do X? is it OK for group B to do X? …
if the answer is not the same for all the groups you can reasonably think of, something about your morals is off.
not everyone will agree whether X is OK to do. but at least you can detect, whether you are biased yourself.
ToxicWaste@lemmy.cafeto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Ok, I'll pay you the 1995 priceEnglish31·2 months agoi partially agree with you. but most social media is carefully designed to make you keep interacting with it. because of phones, you can bring a nearly endless stream of distractions everywhere you go. the newspaper you can read a maxim of once.
it was impossible to get more than a “Mmh” out of my grandfather, while he was reading his newspaper. so i know what you mean. but when he was done with it, he was done with it. after his 0.5 h per day of newspaper, he was an amazing conversationalist and always had time for whoever wanted something. so i would say there is a difference.

These sofas can be really comfortable. if well refurbished. if the cushions are made properly, they are quite hard. so it is not like the one i have: to slouch on. but comfortable to sit, talk, have a tea. it all depends on what you want out of your room. but to me the purpose seems to fit the vibe.

when i switched to lemmy, many communities i was into at reddit, did not exist or have very little posts. over time i discovered other communities and am less online in general. it is a getting used to it, but overall a net positive.
lemmy has a lot of the same look and feel. but they are not the same.
sometimes you don’t have to (or can’t) have a full plan A-Z. Sometimes you just have to start somewhere - usually with gathering ppl. euromaidan is a great example of that.
but yes, louis could have put more concrete plans in his first video. as he has them. on the other hand he probably throws many things and sees what sticks. i guess that is what you have to do, if you try to change legislation against corpos with much more everything than you.
