When I was in Japan a decade ago, email was still rare, the electricity bill requires someone to come to your home and calculate it each month, the ATM wouldn’t work on weekends after certain hours or on holidays, a lot of paperwork to do anything, and other little gotchas like that, that made it feel far behind at times.
They are still far ahead when it comes to baths and toilets though. The infrastructure is also superior to anything anywhere else except perhaps China.
How can the laws be so lax in Italy that this would happen?

The G7 is a nursing home.
When the camel falls the knives are many. Old Arabic saying, I think relevant here.
The only “upside” is that Putin’s Russia doesn’t look like it will be able to sustain itself for as long as the Soviet Union could after WW2

It is easy to understand. The people who the Republican party appeals to are unlikely to vote Democratic, the Democratic Party by trying to appeal to them it is losing its base while not winning any Republican voters. The people who are likely to vote Democratic are more idealistic and will hold the Democratic Party to a high standard. The promised “push to the left” never came, and so the people are looking at two right wing candidates, the Republicans already got their guy in Trump and anyone even slightly left of center has no one to represent them.
In 2020 he still wasn’t Genocide Joe though.
We told you back in November but no one listened.
I still won’t buy Italian cars
I like the idea of a maximum wage
I hope this encourages them to leave, they threatened they’d rather die, leaving should be an option for them now. Not sure what the long term ramifications will be for Palestinians and the survivability of the occupation, but I’m hoping for the best.
There’s a cost to maintaining old technology, at some point it becomes higher than transitioning to new technology. People have known that since ancient times, that’s why the Neo-Assyrian Empire chose to switch from Akkadian to Aramaic.
