  • Depends on the job and the kid.

    When I was in school, at any age, there’s no way I could’ve worked any job and kept up with school work even a bit. Others might be perfectly comfortable doing both.

    I don’t think there’s an easy answer to this. But it’s also not like your kid is stuck for life with the job so if they want to start working after school, at whatever age is legal for them to work, I think it’s fine to try and see.

    Btw, re “work summers during university”, is that even still something you can do? I had to work throughout uni because there just aren’t any jobs that would’ve employed me only when I had off. (But this may depend on where you are, idk)
