  • I’ve been wanting to get back into downloading games and software for a while now but I’m torn on how to go about it. One option would be to blindly trust whatever I’ve downloaded even if it’s from what’s supposed to be a trusted source. Another option would be to build a separate computer that I’d never connect to the internet. Covered in this post would be the third and last option I can think of: running the software and games on Linux. Though the question would be, would it be safer to run said software or games in Wine or something Wine-like/based on Wine like Proton under Linux without kneecapping the system and completely removing internet access altogether? I know what I’m asking might be a better fit in it’s own post or commented on a more relevant post but since we’re talking about Lutris and Wine/Proton, just wanted to ask.
