That seems like a pretty awesome rate. I keep all my extra money in a HYSA so I never cared much about the CU rates, but you’re definitely beating my CU for anything over $2k. They give 5% for that but it drops sharply after the first 2k.

It has been a constant source of amazement to me over the past couple decades that people give their money to banks instead of credit unions. They are better in every single way unless you are one of those last few people who actually have to go to a branch to deposit a paycheck or have a need to visit your financial institution in 13 different states or something. I average less than 1 visit a year to mine, they have no fees for anything except ordering checks (and who the fuck needs those anymore?) and I get free $5,000 in overdraft protection on my account, only have to pay nominal interest if I dip into it. No ATM fees if I use a credit union co-op ATM to get cash (and who the fuck needs that anymore?) Easy peasy and they aren’t trying to wring every drop of blood out of my bank account.
You can immobilize an M1 by pouring shit into the exhaust grills over the turbine. You can also blind the driver and TC with a can of paint. You don’t have to kill it to take it out of the fight. That’s my point. If they don’t have counter-infantry to keep you off them, they are fucked. Tanks really really suck against infantry in situations that aren’t endless flat desert like the Gulf War.
Thank you for explaining to this former 11-H / 11-M the difficulties in fighting tanks. :D
You’re not wrong but infantry against tanks that have no infantry support will win every time. Tanks are fuckin blind when buttoned up and will get absolutely wrecked by close in infantry, even without anti-armor weapons. It’s almost trivial to immobilize them from up close.
I didn’t say it was a LOT of solace. 😁
But yeah I lean more towards “we are well and truly fucked” every year.
National guard gets involved, at the governor’s request, but they don’t have missiles or drones.
The fuck they don’t.
After my active duty service I was in the NG for a while until I figured out it was a fuckin joke, but my NG unit was a Bradley unit which means 30mm cannon and TOW missiles. And that was almost 30 years ago.
The Air NG also flies just about every fighter out there and they sure as hell have missile racks on them.
The hope is that the Americans behind those war machines will be hesitant to fire on their countrymen but Kent State puts a shadow over that hope.
The only solace to be had is that the pendulum eventually swings back. But there’s going to be a lot of fuckin misery before that happens.
Ask the Russians how well it goes when the tanks fight alone.
the choice between whether you’d rather a bike or a car runs into you is pretty obvious.
No doubt. I pick car every time. Listening to the douchebag cyclist whining after the accident would be too much for me to bear.
You are correct! Because analogies are for comparing things and I wasn’t comparing anything.
I think you wandered into the wrong room. The Department of Taking Everything Literally is down the hall.
They become completely disassociated with how the world actually functions because they are surrounded by people who tell them whatever they want to hear so they don’t lose their jobs.
Well they lost me with their ridiculous price hike for PSN. I won’t be buying any more multiplayer games for my PS5.
TFU1 was a lot of fun for me - I 100%ed it on Xbox and had a blast. I remember spending time learning all the moves and becoming a flowing river of death with the combos. The story was pretty cool at the time, but you have to realize it was only competing with the films at that point, and people were hungry for more Star Wars back then.
TFU2 was fucking garbage and I think I played it for all of 45 minutes before going “Nah”.
In that case it might not hurt to reach out to some NASA email addresses. The people who write that stuff are, after all, nerds like us, and would probably be happy to share whatever they are allowed to share.
It’s funded by taxes so, security issues aside, there shouldn’t be a lot of trade secrets.
I was kidding. 😁 There’s nothing real time about C&C with space probes. And the ISS is close enough I doubt it’s an issue.
When you have that much money reality ceases to exist. Rich people live in the ultimate echo chamber.
So dumb. How many hobbyists will pay that? A tiny fraction. Then in 4-5 years these guys will be sitting around wondering why their new business customer numbers fell off a cliff.
Don’t bite the hand that proselytizes for you at the office.
