I don’t use either but they aren’t the same thing to suggest one is a substitute for the other. Omv has self hosting services that it installs for you. Dokploy is docker manager.

Electricity and magnetism are the exact same thing. A non moving charge creates an observed static electric field. A moving charge creates an observed magnetic field. So if you were moving next to the charge as it went down a wire, you would see no charge moving. No charge moving means no magnetic field.
They only look different because things get distorted moving at near light speed relative to you. It would be like if we gave two different names to a police siren based on whether you were listening standing next to it or listening as it zoomed past you.
All corporations in the US are built on stolen native American land. The US is currently run by a fascist pedophile.
No one should support solari’s maker space because it supports a fascist pedophile and their maker space is literally on stolen land.
There are Israelis who don’t support the genocide. If that company is one of those, it would be important to support them.

Post the exact comment that got you banned. I’m sure many on Lemmy would find it fun to repost it to the Roku forum over and over. We don’t care about Reddit bans.

It’s in the standard elementary school curriculum.
They learn Scratch where you drag and drop code blocks to build a flowchart.

It is an interesting idea. I would support it if it worked. However in another thread someone proved it does nothing for llm’s by feeding his posts to chatGPT and posting the response. Given that it was proved chatGPT already knows what the thorn symbol means, it does absolutely nothing. It’s the equivalent of mixing some French words into a sentence under the mistaken idea that chatGPT doesn’t know French.
The weird part is that he keeps doing it after being proven wrong.
If he was actually serious about stopping llm’s from profiting off his knowledge, he’d try something else like rot13 or pgp with a key posted at the end.

Talk to any CRT or old radio enthusiast, or anyone over 55, and they’ll tell you about it.
I did in that thread! And yes I’m over 55!

Back in the day, people could take tubes from their TVs and radios to a shop, test them, and buy replacement parts.
Did you learn that from me? I posted it a few weeks ago:
At least there would be some competition against Google and Apple.

I’m just saying average Americans, the comfortable class, exist on the backs of millions of global workers living in poverty.
The claim that everyone can live like a fat American isn’t ecologically sustainable.

First of all, it takes just as much labor to make a product that lasts fifty years as it does to make a product that lasts five years.
While product obsolescence and built to expire is a huge problem, it is absolutely untrue to the point of absurdity to claim that making a product that lasts 50 years costs the same as a 5 year lifespan product.
We don’t even have the materials science to engineer an led diode that doesn’t decrease in brightness over 50 years to be able to build one. You can beef up the components and heat sinks so they last 20, but the emitter will still be a fraction of its original brightness. The same goes for everything else.

Providing the basics is why I said taking the wealth and giving it to the poor would work.
However “comfortable” is middle class, the majority of the US population, and that’s not ecologically sustainable.

Money is a placeholder for labor. If you distribute all their money, the same labor needs to get done.
It absolutely helps, but it can’t make everyone rich because by definition “rich” requires living off the work of others. (I’m using the word rich closely to mean comfortable.) What it can do is raise the bottom 10% out of poverty.
The US consumes at a level unsustainable by the Earth. Bezos’s billions doesn’t mean he consumes a billion cheeseburgers a day. His personal waste is huge but tiny when compared the the total of 350m Americans.
What’s the deal with the batteries that ship with a device last forever but the same brand bought in stores leak after 2 years?

The small hardware trackers have a range of 10 meters. They literally cannot work without being a privacy intrusion like Tile/Life touch.
The only option is a tiny phone that you hide on the bike. You can go really small by getting a dog gps tracker. They work using cell service rather than depend on other nearby users running a tracking app that reports their finds back to Apple or Lifetouch so that you can login and see it.
It would be a stretch but I think Dawn Patrol could work.
I honestly think you’re doing him a disservice by helping that much.
His son will be a Dentist. This isn’t a child that is doing nothing with their life. Think of how much farther you could be in a career if you had more support. Instead of being an employee, you’d be the employer.

The problem is that they get cancer and then run to the government for help.
If doing more makes it better then regular docker desktop does that too. Or apt-get.
