The Soviets kept the Nazi scientists in prison tho… and after they finished their work they were left to rot.

Stalin famously wanted to execute every single military officer from Nazi Germany after the war, and Churchill threw a hissy fit saying “they didn’t deserve it, they were just protecting their country like any good (white, racist) man would!”.

And then the US “rehabilitated” many of the Nazis and put them into positions of power, in the West German US occupied territories, in the nascent NATO, in the US itself….

Difference between capitalist states’ treatment of nazis and that of the socialists is that the capitalists kept them in positions of power — since the prevalence of fascism means the capitalist class can more easily scapegoat marginalized people for capitalism’s faults — while the Soviets used them as reparations for the millions of Soviets the nazis killed, then left them to rot as they should — because fascism is actually a threat to socialist states.
