“Surely my form of revolution will succeed in a relatively bloodless coup. There is no likelihood of an age of barbarism”
Like I get it but there are 400 million Americans spread out over more than 2 million square kilometers. And unlike Russia, people actually live in a lot of it.
The 2nd American Revolution or Civil War would be a bloodbath for the ages.
I would argue you’re already in an age of barbarism. Not for white middle-class landowners, no, but for basically everyone else you have functionally very few rights and state agents can and will simply execute you if they decide to.
The age of barbarism has always existed for the homeless and the oppressed. The age of barbarism has never ended for the disabled. For women and queer people and immigrants. There’s never been an “era of civility” for any of those groups of people.
I also very much agree that the 1917 revolution was an overwhelming unmitigated failure, but I dont attribute that at all to the insurrection itself. Its everything that happened next that failed. It was the Bolshevik party’s supplanting of the ruling class with themselves. The insurrection itself worked. It is a legitimate revolutionary strategy.
It’s gonna be very ugly indeed.
To that 35%, I share the words of John Lennon from the beforetimes…
You say you got a real solution, well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution, well, you know
We’re all doin’ what we canBut if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is, brother, you have to waitPolitico is not a good source for most types of politics information.
I mean it’s not just politico. The fact that the US is headed for a civil war has been understood for a while now. https://www.abc.net.au/triplej/programs/hack/model-predicting-united-states-disorder-now-points-to-civil-war/12365280
… But what exactly that revolution looks like and what the outcome of it will be is completely different for everyone on all sides.
Revolution, of any kind, or even a restricted series of change cannot be organized through the internet.
All wait on significant shifts about how most American communities interact.
It may be a while
