I have been an active communist for nearly half a decade now but there’s something that just gets to me in the left wing and generally more activist adjacent spaces in general. Their stance on violence, take alt right internet users, incels, people who bully artists by putting their art through generative ai models, etc, all these groups might have to be dealt with violence after the revolution because it’s clear they won’t play ball and just be fucking silent. But people act like having a feeling to kill these people after the damage they have done to this world is somehow reactionary, people say having the feeling to kill the people who bully artists enmass, support tech oligarchs, and work for them is somehow reactionary and “radical” when that’s pure necessity of a better society, how are you going to build a revolutionary society while keeping people who will at every point try to sabotage your fledgling society is beyond me and not possible, there’s a reason gulags existed, there’s a reason great purges existed, people after death of that bastard fascist Kirk started quoting Guevara to gaslight people into thinking they’re evil for celebrating death of a fascist. “oh guevara said a revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love and you don’t feel love for person who spread hate speech md made millions off it? You’re reactionary” I fucking hate it, these people are cowards who can’t take action to protect their community if it means their peace won’t be disturbed, I want justice, when we have a revolution we can’t have people around who will try to sabotage it at every point they can so we will have to kill many
what do you mean by “active communist?” did you join org or?
and are the spaces you’re referring to irl gatherings or internet discussions?
there’s a lot to explain on this, and the answers to those questions will tell me how to proceed.
By active communist I mean openly saying I am one, I used to not accept it because of bourgeois propaganda but a lot of things I had in mind and wanted to do aligned with communism, I’m thinking about what organisation to join in real life once I complete my law degree since many organisations need help with law or just provide free litigation to every organisation i can.
I’m referring to general discussion both online and in real life, watching the historic context and the way modern movements have reacted to bourgeois reaction it seems few are actually ready to do what it takes for a revolution. Most just want to swing signs which won’t get them arrested, if a Palestinian flag gets you arrested most people will give up on Palestinian symbols, they’re so afraid of violence required to fight the bourgeois state.
People online need to be careful what they say. We need to keep our head down in enemy territory.
The west is not in a situation where violence is beneficial for the left. Most of the people involved in the revolution will not need to commit violence. When people understand what the alternative is they will come around to the necessity for violence.
Are there lots of internet “communists” that are completely ignorant? yes. Is there a lack of motivation to act against fascism in the west? yes. Those are a call to action for you. Don’t blame the the ignorant if you are unwilling to help inform them.
That’s mostly true but you don’t need to forgive the guilty because you’re on a bourgeois platform. Just say accountable or legal or labour rights, there are numerous ways to say action against unfairness without directly saying put a bullet in the head of every open ai and palentir programmer. Personally speaking I seriously don’t like engaging with people because I just end up alienating them because after seeing everything I just can’t bring the emotional capacity to talk to a western liberal argument that’s why I don’t mod places either.
