I never understand why people seem that think they’re telling something new when they say it started in 2014. Everybody knows that. Does your propaganda tell you this is something people don’t know or something?

Also clearly propaganda is your emphasis on EU/US involvement in the Maidan protests, without mentioning Russian involvement with the separatists. Those separatists were entirely propped up by Russia, while the Maidan protests were entirely from the people of Ukraine. Sure, two EU politicians went there as a gesture of support, but implication that the EU and US caused it, is a lie.

Also, the fact that the people in Donbass are predominantly ethnic Russians doesn’t give Putin the right to conquer them; that’s literally Hitler’s logic to take Sudetenland. Speaking Russian doesn’t mean they want to be part of Russia. Zelensky is a native Russian speaker too.

Secondly, I am tired of people (especially liberals) which talk about laws, agreements and treaties as having some kind of supernatural power to stop things from happening. It’s as if treaties, laws, agreements and commitments were never broken in real life, as if there was a supreme mystical power that bounded every party to commit to them.

Might makes right? Is that your justification for Putin’s war? The powerful do what they want and the weak suffer what they must?

That it happens doesn’t mean it’s right. Murder happens too. This is a very callous way to talk about human lives. Invasion and atrocities are considered illegal and wrong for very good reasons.

Funny thing is that some other pro-Russians here are inventing imaginary agreements and treaties that would magically bind Europe and Ukraine and give Putin the right to invade. He has no such right.

What matters is the will of the people. It’s the people who overthrew Yanukovich, through massed protests, because he broke his promise, ignored the explicit will of the people, and threw out years of negotiations. If the Donbass separatists had such popular support, Donbass would have been independent without requiring Russian support.

What matters is the will of the fascists who overthrew the democratically elected government.

It was a coup by Banderite fascists with US support. Maidan was a false flag massacre of protesters & police by Banderite snipers. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/23311886.2023.2269685

If the Donbass separatists had such popular support, Donbass would have been independent without requiring Russian support.

So the coup-government-backed Banderite paramilitary attacks on eastern & southern Ukraine between 2014 and 2022, causing ~14,000 fatalities had nothing to do with it?
