My Gemini just came in last week, and I’ve had some time with it. I have to say, I’m very impressed and after a bit of fiddling I do like it a lot. I’m currently running a rooted android with the updated magisk patched boot img which I had to patch myself and replace the root_boot.img in the gemini rooted image provided by the partition tool. You can get the boot.img from the firmware provided by Planet Computers. It does run a chrooted nethunter image and has a bunch of tools downloaded from playstore, fdroid, and the nethunter store. Reason I stuck with Android is cuz the Linux images require a mouse which kind of defeats the purpose of this device for me. The internal wifi chipset cannot be set to monitor mode, but that is expected for a chip like the one used in the gemini. I do plan on getting a type c to female usb 2.0 for my external wifi adapters.
The keyboard will take a bit to get used to, but after typing on it for a few days, I’m already getting used to it. It isn’t perfect, and I wish that when I type the keys gave more of a depth. The space bar also needs a bit of improvement, but none of these quirks are dealbreakers. My model is wifi only so it really is more of a personal pocket computer.
Overall I am in love with this device and I have my eyes set on the clockworkpi dev term for my next hardware toy.
