I always identified maybe too much with Grit from Advance Wars. I too am lazy, fond of silly needless figures of speech, am reluctantly working for others, very good at strategising indirect solutions and very bad at direct conflict. Now I just need to smoke and get a long coat and I’ll be complete.

Xu Sanduo(soldier’s sortie), I identify with how he’s not sure what he wants, but only focuses on serving because he believes in purpose. Aside from him I’d also say Shinji Ikari (not related to that scene) and… uh… I can’t think of any.
