So like what’s up with the display name for [email protected] lol? I’m hoping it’s some kind of in joke I am missing or a typo but this could very easily be read as casual racism.

    Holdover from the reddit community name innit? Which was made to post non-Black humorous tweets as those weren’t appropriate for black people Twitter, another reddit community. IIRC

      nope i double checked the reddit community before posting

      note that the problem is that “white” is excluded from the display name, which could imply things about what mods believe about non-white folk.

        Ohhh didn’t even notice that!

        There had been some discussion on that community to rename it, removing any mention of race to show its an inclusive community for funny tweets, but I don’t think they collectively decided on a new name. Perhaps this is part of that effort?
