President Joe Biden vowed he would remain in the 2024 presidential race, but two critical mistakes in the span of two hours deepened concerns about his mental acuity that threaten his campaign.
I see Trump as an ultimate threat to all sorts of things, and I DON’T insist on Biden at all. I’ll vote for a chimpanzee if it’s not Trump.
I honestly feel like not casting a real vote against Trump is voting for our future to be Handmaids Tale and patting yourself on the back for not supporting evil, when for all practical purposes you just did. It’s an abdication of civic responsibility in the name of nebulous principals that will have no effect on the future of the world and no chance of playing a real role in meaningful policy, but you do you.
The fact that the DNC and Democrats in general are a bunch of privileged, out of touch, self righteous assholes is NOT my fault. I hate it and I hate them. But there’s a lot at stake and many MORE people in this world will suffer, struggle and die under Trump than under Biden. It’s just math and all your ideology is VERY empty in the face of it.
Agreed. But we live in a failing democracy in which the religious / fascist revolutionary forces are better organized, better armed and better funded. So starting down that path is unwise.
Maybe not you specifically but I’ve seen a lot of peoples do.

See, I think this is where we disagree.
You operate under the assumption that the things that the Republicans want to do couldn’t happen under Biden, presumably because you think he would block Republican policies, but knowing what I know about Biden and his policies, his willingness to “reach across the aisles” and give concessions to the right, his tendency to passively letting Republican bills pass without doing anything about it even when he clearly have the power to, his failure/unwillingness to roll back Republican policies from Trump’s last term let alone the ones that he expanded instead, etc… I’m telling you honestly, I don’t believe that for 1 second.
I have not seen ANY evidences that Biden would act against Republican politics.
Heck I haven’t seen evidences that he wouldn’t do a complete 180 and start supporting Republican policies that he used to denounce, it wouldn’t even be the first time he does it.
In your arguments in favor of voting blue, you (the peoples who tell everyone to vote blue) always use this assumption that Biden couldn’t possibly be as bad as Trump as an axiom, as if it was just obvious, you never bother trying to show that it’s true, you never question it, I certainly haven’t ever seen any of you questioning it or trying to demonstrate it. You just treat it as some sort of fundamental truth to the point you don’t even seem to notice that you are using it sometimes.
I haven’t seen any reason to believe that this assumption is true, on the contrary.
When I look at the 2 last US presidential terms, I don’t see a bad president and a worst president, I see a bad president who tell you that he’s gonna to terrible shit and does exactly that and an other equally bad president that pinky promise he wont do terrible shit but then do terrible shit anyways and blames the other bad president for it when he get caught doing terrible shit.
I don’t insist on biden but he won the primary and having the party just outright select the canidate is the type of things people complain about. I mean superdelegates and all. I do like biden and the four years we have had. not just versus trump but versus every president since reagan.
I don’t disagree at all. I’m all for replacing Biden if we can and shaking up DNC leadership if we can and getting rid of these milquetoast moderates wherever we can. The Democratic Establishment is their own worst enemy, either through maliciousness or incompetence (probably a mix of both across the spectrum of party leadership).
I’m just planning to vote for NOT Trump and encourage everyone else to do the same.
I believe I need to leverage my vote to stop Biden from being the nominee because he can’t win the general, and by pledging to vote blue-no-matter-who you are making it more likely Trump wins because he’ll have no trouble beating Biden.
They’re listening to voters freak out about Biden and they’re responding. It’s not too late.

Then you live in a failed democracy and your only option should be systemic regime change. Viva la revolución.

So either campaign for Biden and spend the next 4 years organizing or watch as voting for Biden brings Trump to office in 2028

The average American won’t though. You have to actually appeal to them or they’ll stay home.
