President Joe Biden’s mass clemency has faced backlash as it included a judge in the infamous “kids-for-cash” scandal. And a new report Friday evening said the White House did so without considering the specifics of the case.

Bullshit they knew exactly who they were doing. Don’t let them gaslight you. Biden just showing his true self. Big scumbag.

So he either did it on purpose and tried to hide it in among the massive number of other pardons…

Or he didn’t know and they are admitting that at minimum his staff are completely incompetent in making these recommendations.

I don’t honestly expect him to spend time to read through all 1500+ pardon files independently, but his staff most definitely should be filtering them for this kind of shit.

These kinds of accidental pardons happen all the time with mass pardons in countries that don’t have a proper vetting process in place. Usually it involves lawyers putting a rich asshole in the middle of a box of reasonable pardon requests so it will pass a cursory inspection or in the worst case scenario a single person that slips the name in.

The difference between the US and other countries, is that most countries tend to put formal processes in place to prevent these situations from happening, at least as often.

There are a lot of things we’ve found over the last decade or so that simply don’t have official processes, rules, or laws to enforce and instead have just been things that were done a certain way by tradition or historical gentleman’s agreements.

Somebody slipped somebody something green and money shaped to get him on the pardon list.

I once heard, but have been unable to corroborate, that these staffers are not normal government jobs. There is a small pool of resources to hire and pay with as these are not in a federal agency.

The USA needs a professional staff to sort pardon requests.

I still don’t buy it. The crime the subject wanted to be pardoned from somehow wasn’t part of the review for a pardon? Neither Biden nor any of his paid staff (either government or personal/party) had 2 minutes to review each pardon? Nah
