minus-squarePlexSheep@infosec.publinkfedilinkarrow-up4·16 days agoMars colonizing is not really a useful idea, it’s technically somewhat possible but there isn’t a lot to gain from it. Instead, keeping the earth habitable would be much more useful.
minus-squareSzyler@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·16 days agoThe technology needed to inhabit Mars would 100% benefit the life on earth. Just lookup all the tech we got from the Apollo missions.
minus-squareKnock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·16 days agoYes, there are a lot of better things we could be spending the enormous military budget on. I chose NASA because it’s the closest to military spending while still being peaceful.

minus-squareVespair@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up3·15 days agoYeah, reason #2937 exactly why I support a nationalized NASA rather than the outsourcing of space travel to corporations and capitalism. Space should be ours, all of ours, not just theirs.
