I understand if you are on low budget but don’t skimp on whatever you use and touch every day. Buy something dirt cheap and save up to something good that you can enjoy later on when you have the money. You only have one body and if sitting at the computer is how you use it, take care of it!! If it cost money, so be it. Mouse, keyboard, screen and the biggest thing is a good chair. Take care of yourself.

After using win 11 for about a year I got tired of that shit. Every version since 98made the settings menu harder and harder to find whatever I was looking for and this is true for everything in that OS. Save a file? 5 clicks at least just to be able to pick WHERE I want it. Wtf.
It was driving me insane. Bazzite, easiest OS for what I use my computer for and not looking back.
Supposedly coming an update soon that changes quite a bit.
I did this with d6. I am a master at rolling low, cursed you may say but if I pick up a 1 the chance of rolling another one is lower. Or at least in my mind and memory.
I repair stuff at work and this is my everyday almost. Check how stuff works, then try to fix it. Very good advice but most people are too lazy to even try to understand or explore today. When people seem interested at what i am doing i try to explain to them how I think and what I do or how stuff works. I love it.

They wanted to try and do something better in their own time. I am not saying they shouldn’t be compensated but doing something of your own will doesn’t have to be work, it can be fun.

Yeah. Too bad that you can’t pause and keep the 20% off the store any more. Oh well I don’t buy much over there anyway.
Minnels@lemmy.zipto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•New rumor suggests Valve's Steam Deck 2 is much further away than we thought5·2 months agoWhy would you need 1440p on a small screen like that? I think 720p on the original switch was fine and see no need for anything with a small screen to have so hig resolution. Especially since that means less battery time, just waste of power.

What and why is the US even involved in the first place? I know Putin and Trump is “friends” but that just make it even more backwards. This world is so weird. Gone to total shit in record time.

If the Devs want to give access to different versions they can and many indie games do. And you can turn off updates in the settings for each game.
Edit: oof. I read badly, you already wrote that they can give access to different versions My bad for being a bad reader.
Minnels@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?0·2 months agoAbout 20 years ago I played world of warcraft every day and every awaken hour of the day or just about. School was over and I lived with my parents and was “looking for work”. Let’s just say that I played vanilla so much that I had guild members calling in the middle of the night to get together for world boss killing.
Since then I have realized that is not how to go about in life and last time i really got stuck was with Factorio.
Minnels@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?0·2 months agoProbably game of the year for me. Such a rollercoaster of emotions every time I sat down and played. Still have to play the bits after the story is over.
Minnels@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?0·2 months agoYou can play without biters. Just pick the option before you start the map. Or pick friendly mode to have them there but they never bother you until you attack them is also an option. A lot of settings before you start a new game, check them out :)
This is me. In my country it cost a lot more to buy here so i imported mine. I just wanted a new Mario kart but the new one kind of suck and donkey kong is… Well it is a game but not very interesting after the novelty has worn off. I play more on my steam deck and kind of regret the buy of a switch 2. Got a huge backlog of switch 1 games too but I never get to the TV to play, too much focus on the computer.
