Totally agree. If it’s possible to pass somebody on the right, that person (the one being passed) is in the wrong lane for their speed.
I say that online and people get combative about it and throw out all sorts of insane scenarios like that changes anything. I still haven’t seen one that makes sense.
It’s amazing, really. Every time you see a pocket of congestion in the freeway, there’s a sedan in the front of it, leisurely driving in the middle lane like they’re the fucking president in their motorcade of one.

I thought the mid 30s nervous breakdown was just the next big adult milestone…drive, vote, buy tobacco, gamble, buy alcohol, rent a car, get married, buy a house, have a kid, have a nervous breakdown, get a colonoscopy, and then just wait for the clutches of death.
If they put “Fe” on it, too many people would boycott it for gendering the cereal.

I think the problem is, if Dems do it first, they’re not better than the Republicans.

You can’t win in a game where one side insists on cheating and one side insists on following the rules. Our system of governance wasn’t designed for this level of factionhood. It should and could’ve been stopped the right way maybe 20 or 30 years ago. At the least, 8 years ago. And the very last chance was when Trump’s second impeachment made it to the Senate.
But now, there’s no chance.
It’s not even really “cheating” that the Republicans are doing. Most everything is getting a “legal” stamp of approval. Just in a shady way that clearly and defiantly goes against everything this country has ever been about.

The Republican party wouldn’t exist if everybody voted. That is a straight up fact. As fucked as our election system is, they are far enough the minority that if everyone got out, the EC wouldn’t matter.
You want a “left light” and a “true left”, you aren’t going to get it by abstaining, or by voting for nonviable moonshot third-party candidates. You are going to get it by abolishing the far right party and making that tiny sliver of the whole population realize that their antiquated views aren’t welcome here.
They need to be crushed.
They only exist because people don’t want to vote for the lesser of two evils, so instead they just don’t vote. And what do you know, a -1 for the less evil is just as effective as a +1 for the more evil.
All of their success is brought on by feeding apathy in their opposition, making it more difficult to vote, destroying any faith in the system, and gerrymandering.
So yes, in my opinion, the far left refusing to hold their nose for a few minutes may as well be voting for the insurrectionist.

Well my 6th grade science teacher told us that Chernobyl was fortold in the book of revelations and it meant that the world will end soon. Public school. In New England. In the 90s. The 1990s.
And there were nine of them!

And people who work menial jobs don’t deserve to live since they can’t afford healthcare. Those people are obviously lesser and should die.
After all, if you wanted to live a long healthy life, they should’ve gone into a prosperous and productive career…like stock trading. Those guys have tons of money and thus deserve to live.
Right?
You realize that by the time today’s mortgages are paid off, a millionaire will be nearly anyone who owns a home, right? Being a millionaire isn’t the benchmark it used to be. It’s nothing. “Millionaire” is very, very close to what “middle class” used to be, and yet it’s still somehow completely unachievable to most.
Yet somehow we have people walking around today that could literally give $1m to every person in Flint, MI (population 100k) today and still have more wealth than all of them combined. And they’d still be the 15th richest person out of some 8,000,000,000 other people.
And people like you see them as an ally and inspiration.
World is fucked.
