Liberals learned the word tankie from anarchists on Lemmy but they never learnt what it means so they call now call anyone unwilling to vote for the slightly less conservative but still conservative war mongerer. I don’t even live in the US.

This, I’m not even citizen of US and they tried to force me to vote, when i mentioned that i am not a citizen of USA, they blew up with “it’s not for you then”, who was they writing to then? Or as long as they don’t know which citizenship you have, you’re USA citizen by default, and subject to propaganda

Can’t speak for everyone, but I have HB blocked so I don’t think about them at all until someone from one of those instances comes and tries to stir the pot. I think they think more about other instances than getting thought of

Blocking an instance is fine. But many liberals are complaining about it an every day by bringing it up without pretext in completely unrelated topics like some tick.

There are other, more introspective, ways to react to widespread and ongoing negative reception.

Using the word " Liberals " was the only thing that got you all these downvotes, otherwise it could’ve been a fine meme.

No dumbass I ain’t even American, but using shitty believes to divide people with political terms that’s been planted in your brains is what’s making this meme stupid y’all live on the same land but divided by some elderly idiots that claim rulership upon you is what I think is most stupid, y’all divided left and right hating on each other defending some shit your leaders planted in your heads just to keep you separated for their own goods so you’ll just obey like sheep believing every word they say. I was going to delete my previous comment because I thought you were human but now I just apologize because you’re just one of the zombie sheep and I will keep this comments as a reminder that I tried to wake you up, but you do you bro follow your owners.

This is 100% correct, liberals love portraying themselves as the “left resistance” and not the status quo.

I’m fine with communists. My economical political views could be considered communist, too. But tankies defending russian wars of aggression, relativizing Stalin and labeling every political view they don’t like as liberals is just annoying.
And while not every user on hexbear or lemmy.ee is a tankie, most tankies you see are on these instances.

Calling Communists “tankies” makes me doubt this.

            Can you provide specific examples?

What is a “tankie” to you? All Marxist-Leninists? Defenders of AES?

Calling Communists “tankies” makes me doubt this.

Where did I do this? Why do you just “doubt” based on something that never happened?

              Can you provide specific examples?

You yourself. You said Stalin was no dictator. You lumped conservatives with liberals together.

What is a “tankie” to you?

Authoritarians calling themselves communists or socialists. Online, in discussions, this usually is expressed by relativizing oppressive regimes that call themselves communist or socialist, like China or USSR. Like you do.

              All Marxist-Leninists?

Why do you think I generalize? Projection? In this very thread I made very clear I don’t generalize.

Where did I do this? Why do you just “doubt” based on something that never happened?

You literally did at the beginning of this comment chain. The idea of a Communist calling other Communists “tankies” is a bit silly.

You yourself. You said Stalin was no dictator. You lumped conservatives with liberals together.

Stalin wasn’t a dictator according to the CIA itself. If using historical evidence and proper analysis makes me a “tankie,” then sure. Conservatives are a type of liberal as well, yes.

Authoritarians calling themselves communists or socialists. Online, in discussions, this usually is expressed by relativizing oppressive regimes that call themselves communist or socialist, like China or USSR. Like you do.

The PRC is Socialist, and the USSR was Socialist. I don’t see how anyone labeling themselves a Socialist or a Communist could genuinely believe otherwise unless they haven’t read theory. Would you mind explaining? According to you, authoritarians are just Communists who have actually read Marx, Engels, Lenin, etc.

Why do you think I generalize? Projection? In this very thread I made very clear I don’t generalize.

You’re all over the place, you denounce AES yet call yourself a Communist, you call Communists tankies, it’s all very weird.

I can make recommendations for a basic theory reading list if you want.

Honestly I’m more worried about those who claim to be communists but do things that both go against the tenets of communism and make other communists look bad. Tankies are a subset of that.

I’ve been wondering if a certain instance (not threads, a whole other discussion) might be more used than other instances, because I’ve also noticed a marked difference in discussion and tone. I’m well aware a lot of it can be explained away by more users coming and my own understanding becoming more informed. It just seems more cacaphoneous now.

Are you saying there’s nobody who defends all three and claims to be a leftist? Because that I’d say I’ve never seen. But I’ve certainly seen various accounts claiming to be leftists and defending one or two of them.

What do you consider “defending?” No Leftist I have ever seen likes Putin, Trump, or Netanyahu, which means either you have an interesting idea of what “defending” means or you are yet another “left” anticommunist.
